August always feels like that last golden slice of summer. Warm days, dreamy evenings, and that little back-to-school buzz in the air (even if you’re not in school). July filled my cup up in more ways than one, and left me feeling inspired to the fullest. Here are 10 things I’m into right now… from favorite home finds to wellness must-haves to what’s on my mind this month.
Skincare Without Scarcity
Lately, I’ve stopped rationing my face creams. One of my new favorite rituals is slathering on skincare… liberally, unapologetically, as much as my skin will drink in. No rationing. No saving it for a special occasion. Just generous, intentional nourishment. It’s my quiet rebellion against lack mentality, a reminder that there’s always more where that came from. That I am worthy of softness, of care, of abundance…every single day. The past few years I’ve been super into French skincare. For my nightly ritual I use Caudalie's Firming Cashmere Cream as it’s insanely moisturizing and makes my skin feel silky smooth. And in the mornings I use Caudalie's Beauty Elixir Face Mist as well as the Vinoperfect Brightening Moisturizer. Using these products liberally has done wonders for my skin as well as my mindset.
Spontaneous Weekend Getaways
Last weekend my husband and I drove up to the mountains for the weekend. It was such a wonderful escape only an hour or so away from home and required very little planning. It reminded me of how important it is to shake things up every so often and break out of your normal routine. You don’t have to hop on a plane or spend a fortune to feel like you’ve escaped. Sometimes all it takes is a tank of gas, a good playlist, and the curiosity to explore a place you’ve never been…just an hour or two from home. A tiny town, a quiet trail, a roadside diner with homemade pie. These quick little getaways remind me that adventure doesn’t have to be grand to be meaningful. The shift in scenery, the break from routine; it’s often exactly what I didn’t know I needed. A reset. A refresh. Proof that joy can be simple. And spontaneous.
Pieces That Make a Space Feel Like Home
As we’ve been furnishing our new home over the past few months, I have felt so creatively inspired by the process. There’s something about finding that one piece…the chair, the table, the lamp…that instantly elevates a space and makes it feel like you. I’m such a sucker for a deal on Facebook Marketplace, but I’ve been allowing myself to invest in some pieces that are timeless, well-made, and reflective of the kind of life we want to build here. Lately, I’ve been drawn to Crate & Barrel’s clean lines, warm tones, and timeless quality. These are the kinds of pieces that don’t just fill a room, they anchor it. Thoughtfully chosen, beautifully made, and built to last—not just in style, but in the way they make you feel at home. Here are my recent favorites from Crate & Barrel

Returning to a Book That Once Found Me
I first read Women Who Run With the Wolves about a decade ago, when I was in a completely different season of life. It found me then in the way certain books do…at the exact right moment, saying things I didn’t know I needed to hear. Now, I’m rereading it with fresh eyes, and it’s hitting in entirely new ways. It’s wild how a book can shape you once, then come back years later and offer something completely different. That’s the mark of a powerful story…it grows with you.
My Favorite Natural Alternative to Botox
I’m not doing Botox right now, but I still care about taking good care of my skin as I age, and face taping has been my saving grace. It’s one of those simple, low-cost tools that actually works when you stay consistent. I love that it supports my skin in a more natural, intentional way—no needles, no pressure to freeze my face. Just a little nightly ritual that helps train my muscles to relax and softens the lines that come from living fully. Aging is a gift, and I want to honor it while still feeling confident and cared for. Skin Gym face tape and mouth tape are my favorite brand to use because it’s super easy to use… just peel and stick.
Audrey Hobart Music
I’ve been obsessed with Audrey Hobert lately. Her music feels like something you’d hear in the background of your own life—the kind of lyrics that stop you mid-scroll or mid-walk and make you feel seen. I love that she writes everything herself, directs her own videos, and isn’t afraid to be weird or vulnerable or brutally honest. “Sue Me” and “Bowling Alley” have been on repeat… they’re raw, witty, and somehow comforting. There’s something about artists like her who are just fully themselves… it makes you want to do the same.
Reformation Cardigans and Sweaters
With fall fast approaching, I’m already reaching for my favorite Reformation cardigans and pullovers. They’re the perfect layer to slip on when the mornings get a little crisp but you’re not quite ready for a heavy coat. I love how these pieces feel cozy without being bulky. Plus, they carry that cool, timeless vibe that makes getting dressed in the fall feel like a little creative ritual. And knowing they’re sustainably made? That just makes the whole cozy-season wardrobe refresh feel even better.
Making good use of my evenings
Lately, I’ve been making better use of my evenings. Not by adding more to my plate, but by being more intentional with how I spend that time. I’ve been going for walks, reading something that actually inspires me, or just getting still and checking in with myself. I’m realizing how easy it is to let those hours slip away in scroll mode, and how much better I feel when I use them to recharge, reflect, or take a small step toward my goals. It’s not about productivity…it’s about alignment. And ending the day feeling like I gave that time to something that matters.
Working with what I’ve got
Lately I’ve been leaning into the idea of creating from exactly where I am…with what I have, not what I wish I had. It’s so easy to think we need the perfect setup, the right lighting, the better camera, the bigger audience, the extra money. But I’ve realized that waiting for perfect just delays momentum. Some of my favorite work has come from moments when things were messy, scrappy, or low budget…but honest. There’s a kind of magic in showing up anyway, even if the space isn’t aesthetic or the timing isn’t ideal. I’m reminding myself: what I have is enough to begin. It always is.
The Simple Ritual of Lighting Candles
There’s something quietly powerful about the simple ritual of lighting candles. It’s an easy way to slow down, mark the end of a busy day, and create a little pocket of calm amidst the noise. For me, lighting a candle isn’t just about the scent or the soft glow—it’s a gentle reminder to pause, breathe, and show up for myself. My current favorite candle is any scent by Salt & Stone. It’s become one of those small, grounding habits I didn’t realize I needed until it was part of my routine.
And that’s a wrap! If you have any questions on my suggestions, feel free to ask in the comments. I hope everyone has a beautiful month filled with intention, joy, and little moments that make life feel a bit more magical. Here’s to embracing the season and making the most of every day!
